About Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is one of the largest fresh water lakes in the United States

The lake is on the border of California and Nevada and is considered and interstate waterway

Approximately two-thirds of the lake is in California

The average lake leve is about 6225 feet above sea level

The main Native American group is the Washoe

"Discovered" by John Fremont in 1844

The lake never freezes as it is the second deepest lake in the US
